First freestyle Friday!!

Welcome to freestyle Friday’s! Ok, so, let’s talk galleries! Galleries are awesome; they can be a place to see, enjoy, and sometimes purchase fabulous art. But not all galleries are the same; some are local galleries focusing on local artists, and others are national or international galleries designed to be the power horses of the art market. But there are also galleries without art for sale (aka museums in disguise!), and those are often galleries focused on very specific things, such as a particular art movement or style. Galleries are sections of larger museums focusing on one style of art, like an impressionist gallery at the MFA in Boston. Galleries can be many things, which is why I’m so happy to be working in one! There are many people that work in a gallery other than a curator! There are archivists, registeries, installers, membership office workers, public relations, and event organizers to name a few!

So, I would love to know what your favorite gallery is, no matter where it is! List it in the comments below! And if you have any more questions about galleries, I will answer them in the next installment of freestyle Friday! Leave you questions and comments below 🙂

Love from Boston!
